No. Our mats are designed specifically for seated or lying down postures such as those used in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, mediation or for Gong or Sound Baths.  They would not be suitable for balance based yoga such as Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar or Ashtanga as these require a mat with non slip properties.

Shearling is naturally durable and self cleaning and caring for your mat is easy. Shake it out regularly and spot-clean with a damp cloth and warm water (max 25 degrees). Avoid soaking or washing it fully to maintain the natural lanolin properties. Do not dry near heat sources or use a tumble drier. Air dry away from direct sunlight. Light brushing with a sheepskin slicker brush helps maintain softness and restore texture.

Yes, we use pasture-grazed, mulesing-free shearling from New Zealand. Animal welfare is our priority and we ensure that ethical standards are maintained. We only source our shearling from suppliers who adhere to humane animal treatment. Our shearling is by-product of the meat industry ensuring that no animals are raised or slaughtered solely for their hides.

Absolutely. Shearling is naturally hypoallergenic and the lanolin helps to keep bacteria and dust mites at bay, making it suitable for those with sensitivities.

We recommend placing the sheepskin mat on top of your existing yoga mat if you are practicing on a hard floor. Our founder prefers to use her own mat underneath if she is at a studio class. The mats can be used on their own but a traditional mat underneath will give an extra layer of comfort.

Not yet. We are currently working with various suppliers to design a bag that fits with our sustainable ethos. We are looking at either bags made from unbleached cotton or vegetable tanned leather. Watch this space!
